Be active and connect to your local community through sport.  

Sometimes it's difficult to know if you're going to enjoy a new sport or activity especially if you're returning to exercise after a break. You might not have played team sports since your school days.  Associations run the competitions and will assist you find a club near you. Sporting clubs welcome new members throughout the year and host 'come and try' events, season registration days and may offer free introductory sessions.

For people who want to remain active, at a more moderate or gentle pace, yet still want to enjoy the social and competitive environment, check out these affordable indoor options run by local clubs.

Walking Netball is a gentle version of the game; it is netball but at a walking pace. The game has been designed so anyone can play, regardless of age, gender, ability or fitness level. Walking Football

Walking Football is low-impact, team based exercise specifically non-contact with players and always having one foot on the ground.  There are defined Walking Football Rules and Formats and matches are played with modified formats so everyone can enjoy playing. The game focusses on passing rather than speed and running and is played on smaller pitches with shortened game times.

Run by Baringa Football Club, this affordable sport aims to promote health, wellbeing and the social benefits of regular football especially for older people.
