The Sunshine Coast Community Strategy 2019-2041 represents council's commitment to strengthen the substantial contribution made by volunteers and volunteer organisations.  

Sunshine Coast Volunteer Sector Reference Group

The Sunshine Coast Volunteer Sector Reference Group includes organisations who manage volunteers. This includes animal welfare, children, community transport, aged care, health and welfare services. 

The reference group meet to share ideas and challenges, and to collaborate on events. 

The reference group will work with council to provide feedback and advice on matters relating to:

  • volunteers and volunteering on the Sunshine Coast
  • the Volunteer Sector Action Plan
  • council’s target rate of 25 per cent community participation in volunteering.

Council’s volunteering program offers many opportunities including: 

  • festivals and events
  • environment and conservation programs
  • libraries and galleries

There are also many other local volunteer programs for you to explore.

During these unprecedented times many people are experiencing just how volunteers are changing lives. 

National Volunteer Week  celebrates and thanks our volunteers for their time and dedication.
