BushCare Sunshine Coast

Volunteer to conserve bushland in council's environment reserves. If you are an individual, family, club, school or business we have an activity to suit you.

BushCare Sunshine Coast

We are fortunate to call the magnificent Sunshine Coast home. From the beach to the hinterland, we have diverse habitats home to many flora and fauna. BushCare volunteers play a significant role in supporting this - wherever and whenever you volunteer, you'll make a difference!

BushCare Sunshine Coast (formally Community Nature Conservation Program) supports the community to conserve and restore our natural bushland in council's environment reserves. It is a great way to make a positive impact on the environment around you, and you will also be able to meet new people, stay healthy and active, learn new skills and connect with nature.

You can join our 2,000+ BushCare volunteers who annually achieve together:

  • planting 20,000+ native trees, shrubs and ground covers
  • 1,600+ wheelie bins of weeds composted
  • restoring 170 hectares of bushland
  • creating habitat corridors
  • restoring our local waterways
  • building resilience of our dunes.
Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share.
We commit to working in partnership with the Traditional Custodians and the broader First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) community to support self-determination through economic and community development.
